Downtime ExplainedJanuary 3, 2008, posted by IamShipon1988
I guess you guys/girls have noticed our recent downtime. Well I was surprised by it too. I want not aware of what was going on. So I contacted my hosting provider stating "oh my site is down and I don't know why. I paid my bills and I followed all the terms." After a day or two, I got a reply stating, "oh sorry, we were doing and upgrade to Apache and PHP." I had no idea this was going to happen, else I would've backed up everything (since last time, all of my files were deleted during an upgrade). So I asked them, why wasn't I told about this. One response was that I should have checked their forum and they did indeed send me a mail (showed me proof). I then realized how crappy the new GMAIL has become. I went in to check my mail and I saw all the spam mails in my inbox and all of my important mails in the spam folder. So when the update was done, I was happy to see nothing lost. I type in "hiphopclique.com" and you would not believe the message I got "error code 500: Internal Server Error." In my head I was thinking darn it, there goes my favorite place to spend when I'm bored in class. I searched the entire web for solutions, but had no luck. I then contacted the server administrator and told him of the issue, he replied with a very simple message: "just remove 2 lines of code from your .htaccess file" (and he told me which 2 lines). I was surprised and happy at how good the service was.
So yea long story short...sorry for the recent downtime. I forgot to you all about it due to my e-mail service acting odd.
